ELIGIBILITY

• You must be a current high school senior

• You must be a citizen of the United States on the date your application is submitted

• Scholarships are available to students who enroll in two-year or four-year undergraduate degree programs at accredited U.S. American colleges or universities, trade school or license|certification program

   PROCEDURES 

• The application deadline each year is May 10.  All applications are online and must be completed fully

• Must be graduating from an Arizona High School with a minimum GPA of 3.0

• Must have competed in Cross Country and/or Track and Field for at least one year in high school for Mike Chapman, Rachel Guest or Clif McKenzie Scholarships 

• Must have competed in a high school sport or arts program for at least one year in high school for the I Know A Guy Inc + I Know A Guy Fireworks scholarships

• Must complete the application by due date

• Must complete 30 hours of community service (can be I Know A Guy Inc) and must have signed service hour letter/certificate and/or email from organization whom service was donated to

• Write an essay on how applicant has shown leadership and commitment to their running + track & field team, sport or art program and their academics. Please limit to no more than 500 words

   SELECTION

• A selection committee is appointed by I Know A Guy Inc and will consist of professionals in the community including our Scholarship Honorees

• Selections will be made and announced no later than May 20.

• Applicants will be awarded based on the following:

  • Community Service​

  • GPA

  • Leadership

  • Integrity

  • Overall character

  • Participation in Athletics or Arts 

  • Financial Need

• ​Decisions of the selection committees are final and are not subject to appeal. No application feedback will be given.

   ADMINISTRATION OF SCHOLARSHIP AWARD

• Scholarships are paid directly to the school. Under no circumstances will I Know A Guy Inc make a payment to a student.

• Scholarship awards may be used for cost of attendance expenses. In order to receive payment, a student must have the school send to I Know A Guy Inc, the completed Verification of Enrollment form, whereupon, we will issue our check, payable to the school, and mail it directly to the school to establish a credit in the name of the student. We will notify the student when we mail the check.  Please allow for 4-6 weeks.

• If a student terminates his or her courses for any reason, the un-disbursed balance of the award MUST be returned directly to I Know A Guy Inc. It may NOT be transferred to another school, and it may NOT be paid to the student personally.

• It is the responsibility of the student to follow up on all matters relating to his or her scholarship award.

• In all correspondence relating to a student who has been awarded a scholarship, we must have the full name and the Student ID # of the student to ensure funds are deposited to the correct student account.
